We are top dollar buyers of catalytic converter!
Catalytic Converters (light grey cover and grey metal on inside)
Catalytic Converters are most commonly applied to exhaust systems in automobiles, they are also used on electrical generators, forklifts, mining equipment, trucks, buses, locomotives and motorcycles.
Palladium (colour)
This is found in catalytic converters.
Platinum (colour)
This is found in catalytic converters.
Rhodium (colour)
This is found in catalytic converters.
Aluminium is light in weight and can be worked easily and usually painted. Traditionally you’ll find this metal in car radiators, guard rails, door and window frames, aluminium boats, planes and also in certain kitchenware utensils.
Brass (Yellow coloured metal made of copper and zinc)
Locks, gears, bearings, doorknobs, ammunition casings and valves; for plumbing and electrical applications.
Copper (Exposed surface of pure copper has a reddish-orange colour)
It is a soft, malleable, and ductile metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity. Copper can be found electrical equipment such as wiring and motors, hot water systems, building materials and copper piping used for plumbing.
Lead (Dull grey upon exposure to air)
When freshly cut, lead will have a bluish-white tint. However, is mostly known for is tarnishes, dull grey colour upon exposure to air. It will most commonly be found in construction, plumbing, batteries, bullets and shot, weights, solders, pewters, fusible alloys, and radiation shielding.
Silver (“Grey” or “Shining”)
A soft, white, lustrous transition metal. It can be found in numerous applications other than currency, such as solar panels, water filtration, jewellery, ornaments, high-value tableware and utensils (hence the term silverware), and as an investment medium (coins and bullion).
Carbon steel is metal alloy which is made up of iron and carbon mixed together. Low carbon steel can be found in fencing and medium carbon steel can be found building structures and bridges. High carbon steel is mainly used for wires.
Cast Iron (Grey)
Cast iron is a group of iron-carbon alloys with a carbon content greater than 2%. It is used to make pots and pans and all sort of utensils that are used for heating purposes.
Mild Steel (Grey, when cut is shiny)
It is often used when large quantities of steel are needed, for example as structural steel.
Wrought Steel (Grey)
Found in steel making and many items. Before they came to be made of mild steel, they were produced from wrought iron, including rivets, nails, wire, chains, rails, railway couplings, water and steam pipes, nuts, bolts, horseshoes, handrails, wagon tires, straps for timber roof trusses, and ornamental ironwork, among many other things.
Stainless Steel (Light shiny grey)
Stainless steel is widely used for food handling and cutlery among many other applications. The alloy is milled into coils, sheets, plates, bars, wire, and tubing to be used in cookware, cutlery, household hardware, surgical instruments, major appliances, industrial equipment (for example, in sugar refineries) and as an automotive and aerospace structural alloy and construction material in large buildings.
